Confused by a recent study published by Stanford University that concluded(erroneously) that organic food is not really better for you???? Bottom line…the study is good, the conclusion really cannot be supported. There is no doubt in my mind that reducing exposures to toxic chemicals and eating foods higher in phytochemicals and antioxidants is important for long term health. The cumulative effect of exposure to toxic chemicals puts us at risk for chronic illnesses, including cancer. Increasing our intake of plant antioxidants additionally protects our cells and our genetic material and can even turn on cancer fighting genes.
