The Non-GMO Project
The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit organization established in 2005 with the goal of creating a standardized definition of non-GMO for the North American food industry while educating consumers to make an informed choice about whether or not to consume genetically modified organisms.
The Non-GMO Project was originally established by retailers, but now includes farmers, manufacturers, processors, distributors, seed companies, and consumers.
Available for both iPhones and iPod Touches, the Non-GMO Project app features a list of brands and products that have been approved through rigorous standards by the Non-GMO Project’s Product Verification Program, the only North American third party verification and labeling program.
Simply search by product type, brand name, product name, or keyword to find reliable non-GMO choices. There are over 35,000 products from over 1,900 brands that measure up!
Don’t see a product listed? You can submit a product verification request and they will look into whether or not it meets their standards!
If you aren’t sold already, the app also offers supporting retailers near you who can personally assist you in selecting non-GMO products.
