Here’s a healthy snack that’s quick, easy and high in fiber. If you use red apples you get a dose of cancer fighting super antioxidant cell protection from quercitin as well as ursolic acid which promotes normal inflammation control. Both are found in the skin.
Core an organic apple (keep the skin on, that’s where there are precious nutrients), slice into 1/2 inch rounds and arrange on a plate
Top each slice with almond butter
According to your tastes try these variations:
- Top with a thin round of sliced banana, a sliced date, a few dried cranberries or raisins
- Sprinkle with your choice of unsweetened dried shredded coconut, cinnamon powder, unsweetened cocoa powder, cardamom powder, coriander powder
- Top with a fresh mint leaf or basil leaf
- Try using crisp slices of pear, asian pear or jicama
