Roasted broccolini is a great alternative for broccoli and makes the perfect side dish or a quick delicious snack!

Broccolini is a unique vegetable that resembles broccoli or asparagus in physical appearance, with long stalks topped by delicate buds.

In flavor, this unique vegetable reminds me of asparagus, being sweet and tender with a hint of broccoli-like bite.

In fact, the plant is so delicate that it can be eaten raw or cooked very briefly. Broccolini is rich in many vitamins and minerals. It carries high amounts of vitamin C, potassium, iron, fiber, and vitamin A.

In this delicious recipe, the broccolini is sprinkled with sesame seeds, which are full of zinc, an essential mineral that helps repair damaged tissue in the body.

I try to add sesame seeds to many recipes because these little seeds contain an anti-cancer compound called phytate, plus the magnesium in sesame seeds also boasts anti-cancer properties.
